THE CHRISTMAS STORY

"The Christmas Story is the Nativity on the largest scale created by Susan Lordi. This two-piece set depicting Mary and Joseph is in keeping with the "Gentle Animals of the Stable". It is the centerpiece of the Nativity; the elements interact with each other when placed together: Mary is turned towards Joseph, sheltered by her right arm. Joseph's staff and mantle form a protective shield around his new family. "The Christmas story is a story of the past... But the overwhelming emotions of holding a newborn, starting a new family, and wanting to protect them forever are present today in every culture and at every age.
